PRESS RELEASE - World Skills Floristry Competition 2010
In April Peter came first in the Southern England Hub for UK Skills.
The advanced competition for florist’s with a minimum of 2 – 7 years experience was held at the
Berkshire College of Agriculture.
Held in the beautiful Hall Place near Maidenhead, Peter competed against 8 other qualifying florists.
4 separate arrangements had to be made from a previously unknown selection of fresh flowers and sundries in a set time demonstrating creativity and technical skills.
One of the pieces that was given a special mention was the concave wedding bouquet, which was deemed technically brilliant was one of the pieces that contributed to Peter winning first place.
UK Skills is a competition that highlights the high standards and excellence found within the creative industries within the UK. The next step for Peter will be his selection for World Skills where Peter hopes to be chosen to represent the UK florist when they compete against other countries participating in the competition.
