PRESS RELEASE - Chelsea Florist of the Year Hub, November 2010
On a cold early November morning Peter headed off to New London Covent Garden Flower Market,
to compete for a place in the BFA Chelsea Florist of the Year hub, hoping to win a place at
RHS Chelsea show in May 2011. The brief was a wedding held in the Swedish Ice Hotel.
Considering the brief, Peter decided to use a block of Oasis in a colour that represented ice. Hand making intricate foliages and wire decorations Peter put all his design skills and techniques into play, coming up with the beautiful bespoke bridal bouquet below.
As you can see from the scores on the mark card Peter did exceptionally well, coming 3rd of approximately 50 entries. In the new year Peter will find out if he has been successful in reaching the final 10 who will go on to compete at the RHS Chelsea annual show.
Demonstrating Peters design skills an unusual corsage was made using black Amaranthus.
Crowds were delighted to see Peter’s new floral artistry work.
